   Abstract:
   Whole cell relaxation as a function of time is analyzed with an equation which describes the viscoelastic relaxation of a membrane strip. This equation provides an excellent correlation of the experimental data and indicates that thge membrane surface viscosity is between 10** minus **4 and 10** minus **3 surface poise (poise multiplied by cm).
