Every day, the main pool nears closer to completion! Though it may seem a big dirty mess,
our contractors assure us that we're still on pace for our May 18th opening date. The electricians and plumbers are making great progress, and the new concrete should be poured within the next two weeks. To give us time to get the pool "swim ready", we are modifying our opening date to the Week of May 18th. Though we are still aiming for that Monday, this will give us a few extra days to get the chemicals, chairs, new slide, and aquatics staff all oriented and ready to go for the summer season.
- Summer Camp registration discount ends on May 1st

A new program for 2009, Kids ROK (Recreational Opportunities for Kids) is an opportunity for DFC families to play/exercise with their children; to expose DFC kids to a variety of fun, healthy activities; and to combat a national rise in the incidence of juvenile obesity and diabetes.
All activities run from 10 am - Noon on Saturdays. Unlike many of our youth programs, this is not a "drop-off and go" activity. Parents are required to stay and participate, with the intention of learning games and activities that the whole family can enjoy ... and to help Eamonn organize and supervise the crazy fun!
- Jump Rope (4/18/09): Bouncing Bulldog alum and DFC personal trainer, Krishinda Lee, and friends will lead a class on the fun and creative world of jump roping.

Due to the upcoming holiday and spring break, the following classes are canceled - Pilates Challenge (Saturday, 4/11)
- Yoga (Monday, 4/13)
- Kripala Yoga (Tuesday, 4/14)
Trial NIA fitness class: Nia is an exciting mind/body fusion fitness program that incorporates cardiovascular fitness through the power and precision of martial arts; the expressiveness of dance arts; and the expanded awareness of healing arts. Originally, Nia stood for Non-Impact Aerobics. The letters "NIA" have now come to stand for Neuromuscular Integrative Action, in other words, the interaction between our bodies and our minds. The program takes a holistic approach to fitness-keeping the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the body in balance. Adaptable to all fitness levels, Nia's barefooted (shoes optional) grounded movements provide a whole body workout that is gentle on the joints.
- Instructor: Laurie LaBean
- Dates: Four Thursdays (4/23 - 5/14)
- Time: 5:30-6:30pm
- Cost: Free for members, regular fitness class prices apply for non-members

- Kids ROK Basketball Program Cancelled due to Weather
Eamonn G Lanigan, 2009/03/27 09:24:28
Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating for tomorrow's program. Although it may not be raining in the morning, the rain today and tonight will make the courts wet and unplayable. They haven't been dry enough to play in the past few days, so I'm certain they won't be any better in the morning.
The program is canceled for tomorrow, but we will reschedule it for another time this summer. Next on the agenda in the Kids ROK series is Jump Rope on 4/18. We'll order better weather...
