The Large Hadron Collider at CERN delivered long-awaited 7 TeV proton collisions at the end of March. The Duke ATLAS group played a key role in constructing one of the main detector components the Transition Radiation Tracker.

The T2K experiment detects its first neutrino at Super-K. The neutrino traveled 295 km across Japan from an accelerator north of Tokyo to the massive Super-K detector located beneath the Japanese Alps.
