Michelle Connolly received her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1996 with a concentration in international, growth, and development economics. Before joining the Duke faculty in 1997, she spent a year as an economist in international research at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York. Her research interests focus on the implications of technological progress and diffusion, international trade, and human capital on growth and development. She teaches advanced graduate macroeconomics and international trade, and intermediate undergraduate macroeconomics.
