   Abstract:
   This paper examined the effectiveness of a multimedia website specifically designed for advanced learners of Chinese as a second language (CSL) in terms of its design, development, and implementation of the materials from the website into a traditional foreign language classroom instruction. Drawing research from Socio-Cultural theory in Second Language Acquisition, this paper discussed the rationale behind the design of the teaching materials which aim at enhancing critical listening skills and cultural literacy.
