    Abstract:
Examines the view that developmental processes which happen together or sequentially in time are not necessarily tightly coupled mechanistically and may be shifted relative to each other in evolution without disrupting development. Heterochrony is the most familiar kind of dissociation in which relative timing of two developmental processes undergoes an evolutionary shift. -from Authors
