    Abstract:
    The aerial parts of Hypoestes forskalei yielded a new fusicoccane diterpene ketone, named hypoestenone. Its structural assignment was based on chemical derivatization and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopic studies, mainly 2D NMR experiments, including long range COSY and HETCOR correlations. X-Ray crystallographic analysis established the complete structure and relative stereochemistry of the epoxide of hypoestenone.
