Biographical Info of Noa Cnaan-on

I was born in New York City and lived there until the age of four. When I was nine, I joined my parents in their diplomatic mission in South Africa, there I had the honor of meeting President Nelson Mandela, which was a significant moment for me. At eighteen, for my obligatory military service, I was recruited to an elite technological unit. I finished my service with a rank of lieutenant with distinction. A week later, I started my studies at Tel-Aviv University. Six months later, I was invited by the Prime Minister's office to become a project leader; I studied and worked at the same time. After two years, I decided to devote myself completely to the academic world. And since then I have been studying and working in the university, and a student representative in the student's union. I love dancing hip-hop and listening to music, especially Funk, Soul and Jazz, and I enjoy going camping and trekking. My interest in comparative political economics focuses on the relations between the welfare state and new religious movements that have gathered momentum in the last couple of decades.
