Michela Dwyer

Michela Dwyer (she/they) is a dancer and artist-researcher. She has lived in and been influenced by many places, including Arizona, Maryland, the Pacific Northwest, and Washington, DC. As a choreographer and dance critic, her works investigate philosophical questions about topics like the ethics of human reproduction, narrative restructuring of embodied memory, and the metaphysics of shared realities. Through dance training in public and private institutions, she has developed a wide-ranging knowledge of movement forms with a primary modality focus on contemporary dance technique and improvisation. Michela's choreographies have been described as avant-garde, experimental, and critically domestic, and have been presented at The American University Museum and The National Gallery of Art. She holds a BA in Philosophy and Dance from American University.
