Hugh Crumley is Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs in the Graduate School and provides leadership for all Graduate School teaching & teaching assistant (TA) programs, including serving as founding director of the Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) program, directing the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program, coordinating Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training for all 3800+ graduate students at Duke, and facilitating the Bass Instructional Fellowships.

Dr. Crumley previously taught coursework on higher education pedagogy and educational technology at the University of Virginia, Georgetown University, as well as at universities and institutes in Russia, Bulgaria, and Korea. He holds a Ph.D. in instructional technology from the University of Virginia, and an M.Ed. in foreign language education and AB in anthropology from the University of Georgia.
