  1. Mark Antliff and Patricia Leighten. A Cubism Reader: Documents and Criticism 1906-1914, University of Chicago Press. 2008.

    Abstract:
The most comprehensive collection of cubist primary documents ever compiled for English-language publication, “A Cubism Reader” illuminates the movement’s genesis with documents that range from manifestos and poetry to exhibition prefaces and reviews to articles that address the cultural, political, and philosophical issues related to Cubism. These diverse selections—freshly translated from five different languages—are augmented by over 200 pages of related commentary on each entry as well as inclusion of the article’s original illustrations. In her scholarly assessment reproduced on the book’s back cover, Gill Perry of the Open University in Britain describes “A Cubism Reader” as “unprecedented”, “remarkable” and a work that “has extended the boundaries of art historical study.”
