   Abstract:
   Expands the capacity of feminist theology to interpret the working of Christian traditions in the lives of non feminist women. Disputes the narrow focus on the semantics, the assumptions that language reflects reality, and that biblical texts have fixed meanings found in much feminist theology. Uses a poststructuralist account of discourse to examine the practices of women whose explicit views are patriarchal: first generation women ministers of the Pentecostal Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee.
