Biographical Info of Bailey Sanders

Bailey is a second year Ph.D. student at Duke University in the Political Science program. Her major focus is Behavior and Identities, with a secondary focus in Race and Ethnic politics. She received her M.A. in Political Science at the University of Georgia in 2013 and a B.A in International Relations at the University of Alabama (minors: Spanish, Italian, Creative Writing) in 2010. Her research centers on how female legislators represent women, with a special focus on understanding how women’s representation may or may not be impacted by increasing polarization between the Democratic and Republican parties. Additionally, she is interested in how racial and gender stereotypes may influence public opinion regarding certain women-centered policies (welfare family caps, for instance).
