Research Interests: (Ph.D., Georgia, 1987) is Associate Professor of Romance Studies (Spanish) and Literature. He has taught at University of Wisconsin-Madison, Giessen (Germany), and Emory. He has published La escritura politicaa de Jose Hierro, Interpretacion y diferencia, and essays on contemporary Latin American fiction, cultural studies, and literary theory. His books, Third Space: Literary Mourning in Latin America and The Exhaustion of Difference,are forthcoming with Duke University Press. Prof. Moreiras' work in progress is on subalternity and imperial reason in Latin America.
