Course DescriptionThe second-semester of a calculus-based course on the principles of physics for students who do not plan to major in physics or in engineering. Topics include: electric fields, DC and AC circuits, magnetic fields, Faraday's law, Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic waves, properties of light, geometric optics, and wave optics. Students must enroll in a lecture section (PHY 142L), a lab section (PHY 142L9), and a recitation section (PHY 142L9R) to receive credit. Closed to students having credit for Physics 152L, 153L or 162L. Instructor: Bass or Gauthier
