Please note: Adrienne has left the "Religious Studies" group at Duke University; some info here might not be up to date.

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in American Religion. In my dissertation "American Manna: Religious Responses to the American Industrial Food System," I investigate the religious complexity present in religious food reform movements. My ethnographic field sites include Jewish produce farms, a Christian Diet Center and a Christian cattle farm. In my work I use food as a lens to broaden the boundaries of the study of American religion by elucidating the entanglement of religion with science, environmentalism, and food politics.
