David Smith, Visiting Assistant Professor of New Testament and Religious Studies

David Smith

Please note: David has left the "Religious Studies" group at Duke University; some info here might not be up to date.

As a PhD Candidate in Religion, I specialize in reading the texts of the New Testament as documents in the history of early Jewish/Christian relations.  My dissertation, Luke, the Jews, and the Politics of Early Christian Identity, examines the place of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles within the so-called "parting of the ways" between Jews and Christians in antiquity.
