In addition to teaching the below courses, Professor Reeves co-directs the Duke in Geneva program, a summer abroad program focusing on issues of globalization and international business.
Background:
Before joining Duke, Martha Reeves served as a Program Director in Executive Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. She previously taught at the University of Georgia in the marketing, management, and women’s studies departments. Martha has had corporate experience in both the UK and the US. She was Director of Management Development for United Assurance (UK) and Director of Management Development for American Express Financial Advisors.
Professor Reeves continues to consult with businesses, local government and social services organizations on a number of issues and projects including women’s development and gender in the workplace, needs analysis, evaluation, leadership development, mentoring, management assessment centers, sales management, sales strategy and marketing. Her clients have included the following organizations:

Dr. Reeves received her BA from the University of Montana, her MA from Truman State University, and her Ph.D. in human resources management and industrial relations from the University of Keele, United Kingdom. She has published articles on reward management, virtual teams, and appraisal systems and is the author of Suppressed, Forced Out and Fired (Greenwood Press, 2000), focusing on the mechanisms of gender discrimination at work.
