Research Interests:

Dr. Daniels is interested in the intellectual, political, and legal history of the United States, with a particular interest in the nineteenth century. He has recently completed and will be publishing a manuscript on the American Whig party and its attempt to influence Americans' moral outlook. He is currently working on a project investigating different theories of rights in the history of American thought.
