Abstract: Volume holograms as optical imaging elements provide maximum flexibility in the design of the optical response. For example, when a polychromatic incoherent object illuminates a spherical-reference volume hologram, the shift selectivity effect extracts only a color-dependent slice of the object, which is reconstructed on a planar detector. In this presentation we characterize the performance (resolution and dynamic range) of a tomographic imaging system based on this effect.
