I am interested in the topologies of moduli spaces of Riemann surfaces. Right now I am working to understand more about the moduli space of hyperelliptic Riemann surfaces of a fixed genus. The fundamental group of this moduli space carries a lot of information about the shape of the space. I am studying this mapping class group via its action on the lower central series of the fundamental group of a reference surface.
