    Abstract:
Angle-resolved low coherence interferometry is used to detect pre-cancerous basal epithelial cells in intact, unstained animal tissues via quantitative nuclear morphology measurements. Recent results are presented which demonstrate the ability to assess the efficacy of chemopreventive agents. Feasibility of clinical measurements in human tissues is demonstrated by real-time measurements.
