(last updated on 2007/04/16)Abstract:
A quantitative study of excitation and termination involving a single finite-length fiber of striated muscle was performed by Dimitrova (1974). This presentation extends material included in a paper by the author (1977) and benefits from private communication with Barr of Duke University, Durham, NC, USA. A uniform cylindrical fiber of finite length lies in a uniform conducting medium of unlimited extent and is propagating a cardiac action potential. With knowledge of the equivalent electrical sources the volume conductor fields can be determined at any locationKeywords:
