(last updated on 2007/04/16)Abstract:
The foundation for a basic science interpretation of the electrocardiogram lines in an understanding of what happens to the myocardial electrical source on its trip from the endocardium to the epicardium, and what then happens to the epicardial potentials as they are projected upon the body surface. Knowledge that enhances the understanding of this process is now being obtained. Clinical electrocardiography is important as a diagnostic tool, and it can truly give insight into the effect of the disease in question on the heart muscle itself. The 20 chapters in Pediatric and Fundamental Electrocardiography bring together leaders in the various fields of electrocardiography in a discussion of new concepts and ideas. The reader should be able to achieve insight into the wide range of fundamental investigations taking place, as well as the wide range of clinical information now being obtainedKeywords:
