    Abstract:
Cable models of neurons were used to design stimulus waveforms to activate selectively targeted neuronal populations in the CNS. Anodic first biphasic waveforms enabled selective stimulation of fibers, while cathodic first biphasic waveforms enabled selective stimulation of cells. The results demonstrate how the non-linear properties of the neural elements can be manipulated to achieve selective stimulation in the CNS
