    Abstract:
    The objective of the present study was to document numerically the characteristics of natural circulation in a porous layer heated from below, and in this way to verify the linear stability predictions regarding the onset of convection. Another objective of this study was to illustrate the high Rayleigh number characteristics of the phenomenon, i. e. the circulation pattern at Rayleigh numbers higher than critical.
