    Abstract:
© 2018 American Chemical Society. In our published article, we describe a plasmid with an insert containing nine repeats of the gene encoding the I91 protein. We realized that our published paper does not clearly state that the inset is engineered so that the I91 genes are separated by a 12-bp region encoding a four amino acid linker. We would like to modify our paper to clearly address this. We would like to modify the sentence Each of these cassettes is separated by unique restriction sites for simple replacement of individual I91 cassettes with the DNA coding for a protein of interest, and by virtue of using unique I91-coding DNA sequences, a series of primers have been developed that can be used to sequence across the entire polyprotein (Table 1). so that it now reads (changes in bold text): Each of these cassettes is separated by a four amino acid linker: Arg-Ser followed by the two amino acids encoded by a unique restriction site. The unique restriction sites facilitate simple replacement of individual cassettes with the DNA coding for a protein of interest, and by virtue of using unique I91-coding DNA sequences, a series of primers have been developed that can be used to sequence across the entire polyprotein (Table 1).
