Daniel Orr,

Daniel Orr

Daniel Orr started his PhD in the fall of 2022.  His research questions focus on Greek and Roman conceptions of tyranny, civil strife, and the tension between philosophy and history.  He is also broadly interested in the reception of antiquity in early modernity.  

Before coming to Duke, Daniel received an MA in Humanities from the University of Chicago and a BA in Classical Languages from the University of Texas at Austin.  He grew up in Texas.
