Lawrence Kreicher, Associate Professor of the Practice

Lawrence Kreicher

Lawrence Kreicher is an Associate Professor of the Practice in the Department of Economics. Professor Kreicher joined the Department in 2018. For the previous eight years he was at Dartmouth College where he taught financial theory, financial institutions & markets, international finance, and global macroeconomics. From 2011 until 2019, Professor Kreicher was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland, focusing on US financial regulation in a global context and on the evolving role of fixed income derivatives with implications for monetary policy.

Prior to teaching at Dartmouth, Professor Kreicher taught at New York University’s Stern School of Business, at Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business, and at Pace University. Previously, he spent 20 years on Wall Street as Chief Economist & Director of Global Bond Research at Alliance Capital, Manager of the International Bond Strategy Group at Morgan Stanley, global bond strategist at Merrill Lynch, chief international economist at Irving Trust, and research economist in the International Financial Markets Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Professor Kreicher began his career as a professor in the Economics Department at the University of Florida.
