| Mort O'Sullivan,![]() Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Mort O'Sullivan is a North Carolina-based photographer and printer with degrees in Literature, Religion, and Chemistry. After founding and running a banking technology company for 24 years, Mort dedicated himself to visual storytelling, a passion nurtured throughout his extensive travels and time living in New York City, Edinburgh, and northern Italy. In 2022, he was selected for the VII Masterclass in Arles, France, honing his skills in long-term documentary projects under the mentorship of respected documentary photographers and photojournalists. Mort's practice explores historical printing processes like photogravure and platinum-palladium, examining how these techniques shape narrative. His work investigates social issues and family narratives, often incorporating archives. At Duke, he aims to refine his creative voice and deepen his engagement with documentary arts.
