Andrew Moenning, Musicology

Andrew Moenning

Andrew Moenning is a Musicology PhD candidate at Duke University. He holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University '20, and a Bachelor of Music from Stetson University '13 in central Florida. Andrew's wide research interests have earned several awards; he was the recipient of the American Musicological Society's Southeast Chapter Student Presentation Award (2021) for his research on contemporary composer Gerhard Stäbler, and won the Society for Christian Scholarship in Music's Graduate Student Paper Prize (2023) for his work on form in rock music. Andrew's dissertation project focuses on the functions of "serious" music in postwar America.
