In August of 2023, Aidan was the inaugural recipient of the Wendy Taylor Yaps '85 & Everett W. Yaps Memorial Endowed Scholarship, and in early 2024, he represented Eastern at the National Conference for Undergraduate Research in Long Beach, CA, presenting his research paper titled, “Conflict and Controversy in Amirov and Nazirova’s Piano Concerto on Arabian Themes.” In addition, Aidan received the First-Year Merit Award in 2022, having been a finalist for the annual Honor’s Recital and Awards Ceremony at ECSU for four years in a row. This past year, Aidan was the co-recipient of the 2025 ECSU President's Research Award for his undergraduate thesis titled "Evolving Nuance and Connotation: Leitmotivic Development in Satie's Rosicrucian Era." A former student of Dr. Okon Hwang and Dr. Tim Cochran, Aidan is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Musicology, where he hopes to explore music’s complex relationship within fin-de-siècle France and Soviet Azerbaijan.
