| Lars Munzer, Musicology
 Lars is a fourth-year PhD student in musicology and music theory. He is interested in American popular music, music production, and formulaic composition.
Lars holds an MA in Musicology from Duke, as well as an MA in British and American Cultural Studies from Freiburg University, Germany, where he wrote his thesis on the perceived Americanization of German popular music. In 2024, he contributed a chapter to Elke Weesjes and Matthew Worley's edited volume Music, Subcultures, and Migration: Roots and Routes (Routledge). Prior to Duke, he has worked as a research/teaching assistant and as a project manager organizing scientific conferences in the field of renewable energies.
Outside of academia, he is a guitarist, singer, and hobby composer (YouTube), whose music has among others been featured on the German radio network SWR2. - Contact Info:
