| Mathilde Savard-Corbeil, Instructor![]() Please note: Mathilde has left the "Romance Studies" group at Duke University; some info here might not be up to date. Mathilde Savard-Corbeil is a Lecturing Fellow at Duke University, where she teaches in the Romance Studies Department after completing her doctoral thesis at the University of Toronto in 2021 on fictional ekphrasis in 21st century French novels. Her current research focuses on Contemporary French Nonfiction, more specifically on the narrative of encounters between artworks and authors, and how these aesthetic experiences generate formal innovations. Her most recent articles explore the presence of autotheory as a tool for the insertion of the subject-writer and as a feminist approach to situated knowledge.
