Abstract: When an automatic defibrillator is implanted, it is essential to accurately estimate a highly effective defibrillation dose from a minimum number of fibrillation episodes. An optimum, fixed step-size, up-down Bayesian protocol has been previously proposed for this purpose. However, the previous protocol can not be adapted to new defibrillation waveforms, electrode configurations, etc. This paper presents a scalable and shiftable version of the previous protocol in the form of lookup tables which can be easily adapted as defibrillation technologies evolve
