   Abstract:
   Dibenzoylmethane(DBM) was found to be a very good reagent for Al^III to produce a luminescent complex having the formula Al(DBM)3. The luminescence property of the complex was used to selectively quantify Al^III on filter paper substrate in the range of 5-55 ppm. The method was successfully applied to water analysis and is devoid of interferences from common anions and cations.
