Abstract: Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy at the excitation of 410 nm and using the fluorescence intensity as a marker was used as an in vivo technique for detection of squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma and precancerous lesions. The technique worked best in patients with skin type I (93% (4/45) of the spectra from cancers classified correctly as cancer).
