   Abstract:
   The authors report the fluorescence and phosphorescence emission and excitation spectra of n-ethyl-carbazole in n-alkane at low temperature. In fluorescence at 77 K an extremely large doublet splitting of about 140 cm^-1 is observed. By using small spectral bandwidth in excitation and emission the spectra corresponding to individual sites may be studied
