    Abstract:
Reports the developments in luminescence analysis of atmospheric samples using two simple luminescence methods, the synchronous excitation and the room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) techniques. Samples extracted from high-volume samplers can be analyzed for their content of certain polynuclear aromatic (PNA) compounds using these two spectroscopic methods. The RTP technique also provides a novel approach for direct detection of PNA vapors collected on filter paper
