    Abstract:
The proceedings contain 18 papers from the conference on Plasmonics in Biology and Medicine II. The topics discussed include: microscopic model for SERS in noble-metal nanoparticles; surface-enhanced Raman scattering from a molecule adsorbed on a single cluster of nanometal particles; SERS quantitative urine creatinine measurement of human object; enhanced fluorescence using silver nanoparticles patterned by e-beam lithography; enhanced fluorescence of labeled proteins coated on silver nanoparticles; surface enhancement of lanthanide emission; characterization of plasmon-resonant gold nanorods as near-infrared optical contrast agents investigated using a double-integrating sphere system; and adaptive silver films toward bio-array applications.
