    Abstract:
The concept of energy consistency of plasticity models was addressed with the ultimate goal of designing unconditionally stable time integrators for large deformation, nonlinear dynamical systems. The energy consistent algorithm and Newmark algorithm were used to simulate the collision. The energy evolution of the system calculated with both the methods was reported and the deformed sequences of the two cylinders were given. The equivalent plastic strain after the impact calculated using the energy consistent algorithm was found to be 0.328.
