- Research Interests: Producing, Nonprofit Management, Entrepreneurship, Organizational Values, and Arts Marketing
Before coming to Duke, Zannie Giraud Voss (M.B.A., Texas A&M
University; PhD, IAE-Aix-en-Provence) served as Managing Director of
PlayMakers Repertory Company and Assistant Professor of Dramatic Art at
UNC-Chapel Hill, as Associate Manager of the Alley Theatre in Houston,
and as Assistant Director of Audience Development for the Mark Taper
Forum and Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Her research findings on
organizational values, strategic orientation, and entrepreneurial
orientation in the arts have been published in the Journal of Marketing, Organization Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Marketing Theory, International Journal of Arts Management, American Theatre, ArtsReach, and the Journal of Services Marketing,
for which she received the 1998 Award for Excellence for outstanding
article. She is the co-recipient of a 2002 NSF grant and a 2000 Aspen
Institute Nonprofit Sector Research Fund grant. She is the co-winner of the 2006 Research Competition on Nonprofit Marketing held by AMA, MSI and the Sheth Foundation.
