   Abstract:
   Vulci 3000 is an interdisciplinary research project, combining digital technologies, virtual reality, multispectral drones, LIDAR and non-invasive surveys with stratigraphic excavations in the urban area. Since its inception in 2013, the project has taken on pioneering characteristics, paving the way for similar investigations conducted in more recent times by other institutions on cities and necropoleis. The primary focus of this research is the urban aspect of Vulci. The investigation aims to analyze and interpret the dynamics of transition from the Etruscan to the Roman phase. To achieve this, a flexible and multimodal methodological approach is employed. This approach is necessary due to the extensive survey area and the complex nature of the stratigraphic deposit, which spans across different time periods. This contribution will discuss the research methodology adopted with emphasis on non-invasive technologies and the use of three-dimensional stratigraphic modeling for interpretive and advanced simulation purposes.
