Specialties:

Systems and Integrative Neuroscience
Research Interests:

Current projects: Cortical mechanisms of depression, Optogenetic dissection of brain circuits in addiction

The ultimate goal of our research laboratory is to determine how the functional activity of neurons in limbic circuitry is controlled and altered by cellular and molecular mechanisms, particularly in response to stressors or drugs of abuse, which can ultimately promote dysregulated behavioral routines that are expressed during depressive and addictive states.

Duties:

Senior Research Associate, Howard Bomze; Laboratory Manager, Kristine DeMaio; Postdoctoral Scholar, Stephen Mague; Postdoctoral Scholar, Rainbo Hultman; Graduate Student, Michael Lacagnina; Undergraduate Thesis Student, Jeanette Du; Undergraduate Thesis Student, Nadine Michel; Undergraduate Thesis Student, Rett Jackson; Undergraduate Thesis Student, Emily Pott; Undergraduate Thesis Student, Kelly Andrejko; Collaborator: Dr. Kafui Dzirasa
