Research Interests: Identification and chemistry of lichen products

I am interested in the systematics and ecology of lichen-forming fungi, including their natural product chemistry, evolution, habitat relationships, and the geography of sibling species and chemical races. I use thin-layer chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography to identify new natural products, analyze qualitative and quantitative secondary product chemistries under natural and experimental conditions and assess gene flow in natural populations with secondary products serving as genetic markers.
