Christopher F Shreve, Instructor B

I came to Duke in 1999 as an undergraduate and majored in Religion with a secondary concentration in pre-medicine. After graduation, I worked in the Biology Dept as a research associate and Teaching Assistant, then earned a Master's degree (also in Religion). I have continued teaching labs and various summer courses in the Biology Dept, with a focus on Molecular Biology (201L) and Evolution and Creationism (Bio190S). Since January 2024, I have been the Course Coordinator for Bio201L, overseeing the labs and general course administration. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I was part of the original group of non-regular rank faculty who successfully organized the first faculty union at a private university in the South, Duke Faculty Union, and served 5 years as President.
In my free time, I enjoy working/playing in my ever-growing garden of ornamental plants here in Durham and spending time with my partner and our two precious cats.
